Those who are familiar with classic French cuisine knows about mirepoix, or a common spice made of onion, carrot, and celery. Creole cuisine has a variant of mirepoix known as the “holy trinity” (a play on Louisiana’s strong Roman Catholic roots) made of onion, celery, and green bell pepper. This blend improves on the mix by adding garlic, chiles, and tomato powder.

 

Cooking Notes

  • Comes in a 2 oz. package
  • Excellent in most savory Cajun dishes, including crawfish, etouffee, gumbo, and jambalaya.
  • Ingredients: domestic garlic, domestic onion, green & red bell, chiles, celery, domestic tomato powder non-GMO. Contains onion.
