Seasonal Drinks part 2: 'Tis the Season to Drink Coffee

Seasonal Drinks part 2: 'Tis the Season to Drink Coffee
By Angela Cornell

I think one of the most ideal pictures of the Christmas season was captured in the immortal Christmas song, Silver Bells, made famous by Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell.

The song describes a bustling yet friendly city street where people are buying last minute Christmas gifts. As shoppers leave shops, they can't help but smile at the local children as they play in the fresh falling snow. All around, Christmas decorations-- both those actually added for the holiday as well as normal everyday items that just feel different in December, like red and green streetlights-- are adding to the air of cheer. All the while, tinkling silver bells (in my mind, it's an old-fashioned carillon in a neighboring church tolling ancient carols) are providing a musical backdrop for the singer's evening stroll.

You can't get dreamier than that, can you?

As idyllic as that seems, for many of us, Christmas isn't made of quiet, memory-making moments, but rather a series of Christmas traditions. I mean, we get the tree at the corner lot from the boy’s scouts, and Aunt Mindy's annual Christmas party is on the 15th, and then we are going to the candlelight service at the church on Christmas Eve (wait, are they even doing that this year?).

Maybe it's just me, but Christmas sometimes feels like it belongs in Straight No Chaser's Christmas Can-Can rather than in Silver Bells.

Christmas is all too often exhausting before it even has a chance to start. But as long as you enjoy the season with friends and family, that's really all that matters, even if none of the family's holiday memories were exactly Kodiak enough for next year's Christmas postcard. Well, except for the matching footie pajamas family portrait in front of the fireplace in Grandma's living room.

Whether you expect your season to be quiet or busy, we have the perfectly flavored coffee you need to help you make holly, jolly, and bright memories.**

Almond Avalanche Coffee: Coffee á la almond. Take a self-care moment by enjoying a cup of this deliciously nutty java, deliciously reminiscent of the roasted almonds that are readily available around this time of year.

Almond Love Coffee: Almonds + Coffee = Love. You just can’t go wrong with that, especially since this coffee was roasted in double almond liqueur.

Caramel Corn Coffee: Few things say “cold weather” more than fresh caramel corn. So why not try this coffee? It’s reminiscent of freshly popped popcorn that’s just been coated by delicious caramel.

Chocolate Snowflake Coffee: If I had to describe this one in Christmas songs terms, I’d say it tastes like would combine Holly, Jolly Christmas and Mele Kalikimaka. (In regular taste note terms, that’s chocolate, almonds, and coconuts.)

Christmas Cookie Coffee: This is the kind of coffee Santa would want to enjoy after coming down your chimney on Christmas Eve. It blends a splash of cream cinnamon, nuts, and vanilla.

Cranberry Crème Brulee: Take the tangy, sweet flavor of cranberries and combine that with rich cream and you’ll have this coffee.

Eggnog Coffee: Eggnog is a holiday tradition in my house, and this coffee just might become one as well. It tastes like creamy brandy steeped with cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg.

Emerald Isle Coffee: It’s time for Christmas in Kilarney! Enjoy this delicious coffee that taste like hazelnuts steeped in Irish liqueur.

Frosty's Spiced Cookie Coffee: This coffee blends traditional butter cream and cinnamon. It’ll be the perfect drink to sip on while you decorate cookies, trim the tree, or as you bustle from shop to shop looking for that perfect gift.

Gingerbread Cookie Coffee: Are you looking for a coffee that perfectly balances ginger and cinnamon? Look no further! This one is the one for you.

Holiday Memories Coffee: This coffee combines all of the most exotic flavors of the season: warm spice cake, hazelnuts, and vanilla.

Holiday Nut Liqueur: If you can imagine a coffee that was roasted with hazelnut liqueur, then you already know how a cup of this tastes. Take it home today to enjoy its smooth, nutty flavor.

Holiday Vanilla Spice: This vanilla and hazelnut coffee is mixed with real mulling spices. Talk about delicious!

Holly Berry Coffee: If you enjoy cherries and vanilla, you’ll love this coffee. Plus, it will pair well with any kind of chocolate treat you were planning on making for the holidays.

Homemade Cookie Dough Coffee: Some of my favorite Christmas childhood memories center around baking cookies. While making memories like that with the children in your life, try sipping on this coffee, which tastes like a butter cookie rolled in cinnamon and sugar.

Hot Toddy Coffee: A Hot Toddy is a classic British hot drink that combines some of the best flavors of Christmas. This coffee is a twist on that old favorite. The beans were roasted with flavors like buttery rum and brandy before being packaged.

Jack Frost Fudge Coffee: This coffee tastes like sweet custard and milk chocolate fudge. Talk about the perfect drink to serve to any guests you’ll have over this Christmas!

Jingle Spice Coffee: If I were going out on a ride in a one-horse open sleigh, the first thing I would want upon getting home is some hot drink that tasted of cinnamon and spices. Something—anything—that would warm me down to my toes. If a hot apple cider wasn’t handy, this coffee would be the best cinnamon-spicey runner-up!

Maple Bourbon: This coffee combines the traditional sticky, sweet flavor of traditional Vermont maple syrup with good old-fashioned bourbon.

Merry Mocha Mint Coffee: Few flavors scream Christmas more than peppermint and chocolate. Add some java, and you’re just that much better off! This coffee will taste exactly like that as soon as the coffee machine is ready to pour.

Nutcracker Sweet Coffee: This coffee tastes like pralines rolled in sugar and spice with a splash of vanilla. It’s definitely the right cup of joe to enjoy while you listen to Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet this holiday season.

Pecan Pie: Imagine waking up on Christmas morning to the smell of fresh pecan pie combined with coffee from your drip machine. Wouldn’t that just be amazing?

Peppermint Candy Cane Coffee: If you were to close your eyes while drinking this one, you would probably visualize the red-and-white swirled candies that are so popular this time of year, since that’s exactly what this one tastes like.

Pumpkin Pecan Coffee: Have you ever wished you didn’t have to choose between pumpkin and pecan pie at Thanksgiving dinner? Well, now you can have both in one delicious mouthful!

Roasted Chestnut Coffee: This coffee’s distinct roasted chestnut flavor will have you singing The Christmas Song with Nat King Cole at the top of your lungs. But why not, right? This season is all about making memories, even if the cat does think you’re a little ridiculous.

Spice Butter Rum Coffee: If you ever wanted to feel like Harry Potter enjoying his Christmas break at Hogwarts, then try this coffee. It may not exactly taste like the Three Broomstick’s famous butterbeer, but it does taste like nutmeg and a cinnamon stick steeping in a mug of hot buttered rum.

Sugar Plum Berry Coffee: If Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy had a flavor, I think it would taste like powdered sugar, spices, and exotic fruit. This coffee almost fits that ideal. It tastes like mixed berries rolled in sugar. What’s not to love?

Tis the Season Coffee: Ready to Deck the Halls? This aromatically cinnamon-spicy coffee will have you singing “Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la” as you trim the tree.

Toasted Chestnut Creme Coffee: Imagine the silky-smooth crunch of toasted chestnuts that has been tossed in vanilla. Is your mouth watering yet? Yes? Good. Now, add that flavor to your coffee. Talk about a winner.

Twisted Peppermint Coffee: You know how candy cane manufacturers keep coming up with new flavors for everyone’s favorite sweet twisted-ribbon looking candies? Well, we’re going to one up them. This coffee perfectly blends vanilla and peppermint in your java.

Vanilla Whiteout: These coffee beans have been dusted with vanilla powder to lend an exquisite French vanilla essence to your morning coffee.

White Christmas Coffee: I’m dreaming of a white Christmas this year. But even if you’re not, you can enjoy a coffee that’s been roasted with vanilla, hazelnut, and white chocolate flavor.

Winter Frost Coffee: Jack Frost ain’t got nothing on this unique hazelnut coffee. Before being measured into the bag, the beans are rolled in white cocoa powder, giving them a cold winter morning appearance.

Winter Warmer Coffee: If cold winter morning isn’t quite your thing, that’s okay. Instead, try this smooth, creamy butter rum coffee to get you going Christmas morning.

Winter Wonderland Coffee: Cue the vinyl for this one. As Bing Crosby croons about sleigh bells ringing and snow glistening, make yourself a pot of this flavorful coffee, which tastes of hazelnut, white chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon. It will leave you humming along with the record as you sip a mug of joe.
